Living in a surrealist painting

I was out for dinner with some friends tonight, at Havana. Lovely summer evening, good spot on the patio, lots of people out. Sweet air. Then...then. There was a naked man at the restaurant. Well, just outside the restaurant. He didn't start out naked, he started out doing an interpretive dance in the middle of the street, then having an intimate experience with the doorway of a building. I was happy to be on the other side of the patio. Because then he couldn't stand his clothes anymore. Naked! Dancing around, and the table full of people right next to him had his wee teeny penis waving right over their plates. He proudly had a Canadian flag tattoo on his shoulder. I don't know why that made it even more interesting, but it did. Some police came eventually and then an ambulance, lots of people stopped to watch him dancing naked in the street, stopping traffic. He had such a small penis, and was pretty round, a fleshy bum, but he was so unconcious of himself. It was pretty fascinating, it made for a lot of chatter at the restaurant.

I sure missed that event! I finally ate at Havana the other night--Wednesday, I think and I had the Poppy Seed Chicken Salad...It was really good and for once the service was really good. Been avoiding that place due to snotty service-but think I'll go back.

Hope your mom is recovering nicely-that must have been freaky--I worry about my mom all of the time too.

That's pretty funny. What's a trip to Commercial Drive without crazy hippies?

I get a couple of days off now. I guess they call that a weekend, don't they? We need to see The Aristocrats as soon as we find out where and when it's playing.

you know what i forgot to mention about the incident? there was quite a bit of yanking of his own penis, as well. quite a bit. crazy interpretive crystal meth induced dancing and really giving the ole johnson a good long pull. i suggest it was crystal meth as opposed to emotional disturbance because when i described the whole thing to a friend familiar with drug addictionshe said it was pretty classic meth stuff. he said that's the dance they do because they have to find their way through the atoms. what a life.

awww-that is kind of sad--too bad. i was imagining someone trying to do an impromptu Kokoro dance routine... the drive seems to have more and more crystal meth and heroin users creeping up from hastings...or is that my imagination...i moved to kitchener just steps from the Drive and it is such a different world from Rose Street...
